ABSTRACT

Residents of Southern Nevada are anxious for information about how they can help protect and conserve the water resources in our desert environment. Humans, fish, and wildlife depend upon Lake Mead and the Colorado River for survival. "Preserving Our Water Resources" was developed to address serious problems of pollution by enlisting homeowners in the battle to protect our precious water resources. This valuable guide provides information on special education and outreach activities in the community to help residents reduce pollution, enhance their environment, and conserve water. There are steps you can take to assure a better quality of life for those of us living and working in Southern Nevada. The decisions we make-from developing a homesite to maintaining our property-will determine the future of our water resources.
