Focus The Nation

Focus the Nation is a national teach-in on climate change that will take place Jan. 30-31, 2008. This educational initiative is coordinating teams at more than 1,000 colleges, universities, high schools, businesses, faith, and civic organizations in the U.S. As part of this national educational initiative, UNLV will host a series of Focus the Nation events Jan. 28-31.

The Office of Urban Sustainability Initiatives, Department of Environmental Studies, and the Sierra Student Coalition are co-sponsoring a global-warming workshop on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 1-4p.m., in Student Union Room 208. Topics will include solar power, energy efficiency, and climate science. The workshop is free and open to the public.

The Sierra Student Coalition and CSUN will host a free screening of the film The 11th Hour, narrated by actor Leonardo DiCaprio, on Tuesday, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m. in the Student Union Theatre.
