Scholarships
Students who have a 3.0 GPA and are enrolled in the minor will be eligible to apply for scholarships that will be used to cover tuition costs associated with the minor. These scholarships will be awarded each semester. To apply, please download and complete the application form.
Internships at NV Energy or other Appropriate Entities
Students who have completed their core requirements are eligible to apply for internships at NV Energy or other appropriate public entities and nonprofit groups that have a significant involvement in solar and renewable energy. A student may elect to have internship experience count as one of the electives in the minor. For more information about internship opportunities, please visit the UNLV Career Services website.
Undergraduate Research Assistantships
Students in the solar and renewable energy minor may apply for undergraduate research assistantships. The assistantship recipients will work closely with faculty on solar and renewable energy research projects. Twelve of these assistantships will be awarded each year. Recipients will receive hourly stipend rates of $15 per hour for 10 hours per week in the fall and spring semesters and 20 hours per week during the summer for their work.
